The customer wanted a website to help promote and sell their product which are photographs cut out and mounted on what they describe as fine board and fixed onto a made-to-measure black wooden plinth. It was important to the customer
As the customer had already invested in create a two sided A4 flier with their logo and colour scheme and so it was important to the client that the website had the look and feel of the fliers they had just had printed.
They also wished me to take on the role of their webmaster on a yearly contract
Development skills required
- Adobe Flash
- A six page Flash website
- Examples of before and after
- PDF Order form
This provided me with some interesting challenges as the backgrounds and fonts which are not web friendly needed to be preserved.
Due the success of this website and their business three years later I was approached to build a new website for CreativeCutouts
This project was my second commercial website built in entirely in Flash. It was important to the client that the website had the look and feel of the brochures they had just had printed. This provided me with some interesting challenges as the backgrounds and fonts which are not web friendly needed to be preserved. The success of the website meant that I was approached to redevelop their website to include a shopping cart sort of function. At first due to other commitments I had to suggest that they approached a different web developer, however six months later they reapproached me and I was then in a position to take on the website.
Due to the nature of their business, a normal shopping cart website was not an option, as my client although wished select the product, payment would be deferred until they had approved the photograph that had been uploaded. The website also was to include dynamic sections that they could alter through an admin section. The new version of the website replaced the original website.
