Practical Solutions - Configuration Management
My experience of Configuration Management grew out of asset management and as my database developed I became aware of the benefits it could provide by expanding the data stored to include other information such as IP addresses, Network Topology etc..As my configuration management system matured I tied it in to a basic helpdesk system, which linked the assets to the faults and provided a knowledge base. The result provided faster troubleshooting, improved security, version control and informed decision-making.
